About Jason Furness
Over 20 years ago I had my first job. I had just failed my second year of university and decided I had better do something to help support myself whilst I repeated the second year of my Engineering degree. My first job was delivering pizzas for one of the major franchises in the suburbs of Adelaide. I would ride my pushbike to work a few nights a week to take phone orders, fold boxes and deliver pizzas to earn money. I remember walking or pedalling in fact, away with $70, $80 or $90 in my pocket each week to help pay the rent. I had applied for other jobs, but had never heard back from the employer and never understood why. I began my professional career with Holden after managing to gain some work experience through ‘people who knew people’ otherwise known as a ‘Network’, a critical part of finding the job you deserve. In my first career I worked for 13 years with a large Automotive Manufacturer. I totally committed myself to the roles I held within that corporation. I managed diverse sections, and then business units within that organisation and took on many difficult and varied roles. The challenges I faced equipped me with the complete suite of skills necessary to be successful in business and to look at business from many perspectives, always with a pragmatic approach. I always did well at any internal interviews as my record of performance would be in people’s minds. I was an absolute dud when I went out and applied for jobs outside of the business. After a particularly miserable two year period I was within a few months of finishing a major assignment and I had resolved to then leave that company when that decision was taken for me. I, my boss, and a number of others over an eighteen month period were the victims of a series of political corporate ‘Square Ups’. It Happens! Looking back now what was a thoroughly traumatic experience turned out to be one of the best days of my life. Learning how to find a job was no longer something to do when I had time, or was particularly annoyed with the latest ‘unusual’ decision. Finding a great job, quickly, had become an economic necessity as I had a wife and two small babies to support. I did the work and 6 weeks after leaving I had three great job offers to pick from, and more interviews lined up than I could keep track of. Since then I have changed roles a few times before I left my last job to run my own business. In the last eight years since I gained the skills and understanding to access the job market I have consistently fielded calls from recruiters, head hunters, executive search firms, whatever term you wish to use. I have also lost any fear of being unemployed for I know how to pick up the phone, write some letters, and find job opportunities almost out of thin air. I have hired many people in my career, but I know that I also did not hire some great people who would have done a brilliant job. I know this because I have met so many people who are unsure how to enter the job market, how to write a great resume, how to prepare for an interview so you stand out from the crowd. These people never put themselves out there to find a better job, or were unable to put on show their talents because they did not know how to do this. My biggest learning from all of my experiences was that a person who is in the job they truly deserve is so committed and enthusiastic that they cannot do anything else but succeed. So What Is It That I Do? I help people who have the following problems: - Frustrated with their current job salary - Frustrated with current job role - Believe they deserve better - Willing to take responsibility to improve their prospects - Finds job hunting confusing and intimidating - Finds Interviews intimidating - Know they can do the next level job but struggle to sell themselves. - Feel stuck in a rut - Technically competent for their role - Do not want to pay thousands of dollars for outplacement training If this sounds like you, scroll back up the page and sign up to our community and get access to 20 free videos to help you Get The Job You Deserve.
What Some of our raving fans have to say...
“I had little confidence for an upcoming interview when I went to see Jason. In one intensive 45 minute session he talked me through the key points of an interview and showed me how to prepare for the interview so that I knocked their socks off! I got the job and the interview panel said that I was so well prepared it would have been embarrassing not to offer me the role. Without the help I received from Jason I feel that I would not have been as well prepared or as confident going into the interview.”

“Jason is a very professional and inspiring person. He keeps me focused on my goals. Any challenges that I have or concerns with myself as a person are gone when I leave the room. He helps me develop a clearer vision of whom I want to be and the person that I can be.”
